The lies coming from the White House on the topic of health care reform are amazing. Click here for footage of President Obama talking about his desire for a single-payer (government) system. It may take 15 or 20 years to bankrupt the private insurance companies, but that is his goal.

Do you REALLY believe we can ensure 47 million people AND lower costs at the same time? Seriously. Who believes that? Do you know how they will lower costs? They will refuse to treat patients.

The U.S. government expected that 1 billion dollars our tax dollars would fund the Cash for Clunkers program until November - three months from now. The program ran out of money after only 4 days (source). The government can't even budget properly to scrap old cars and yet, you want to trust the government with your health care? Good call.

Yesterday, at the East Fork Lake Triathlon in Cincinnati, OH - Cie (age 10) took second place in the 14 and under age group. He did well. Dana took 4th in her division. I didn't drown or impale myself on my handlebars.

I think I am done with open water triathlons for this season. My goal was to do one. I have done several. I need to spend a lot of time in the pool between now and next triathlon season.

President Obama is pushing for a "public option" in health care. 43 million people were enrolled in Medicare in 2006, 36 million of whom were 65 and older (source). 53 million people were enrolled in Medicaid (source). Medicare and Social Security are going to be bankrupt in the next decade (source). But, I am sure we can afford to cover 300 million people...
