On Sunday, Mini-Mattis returned to wrestling after a three year absence. Mini-Mattis had a rough go of things in the tournament. He faced some good - solid wrestlers. Mini-Mattis is trying to get the basics down. What he lacks in technical skills he makes up for with relentless aggression. Mini-Mattis ended up placing third in the tournament. Mini-Mattis battled hard through out each match. I am proud of his effort.

Click here to watch former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar talk about his youth wrestling experience. Even in youth wrestling, Lesnar was a power wrestler. He lost matches along the way - but beat up alot of opponents in the process.

Just a quick update - my life is in a complete state of transition. I am following the path laid before me. It is amazing and scary all at the same time.

Newcomers, be sure to check out the 2007 archive at the bottom of the screen.

The Nike commercial to the right really got my attention.

I have been involved in athletics for most of my life. I played pee wee football, junior high football, high school football, semi-pro football, and was (albiet briefly) a walk-on football player at Ashland University. I wrestled for for three years. I ran track for three years. I played baseball for one year. I have been involved with pro-wrestling since 1999.

I have coached football at the pee wee, junior high, high school, and semi-pro level. I have coached 5-year-olds and 50-year-olds. I have coached alongside major former collegiate stars that played in National Championship college football games. I have served as offensive coordinator for a former NFL (Ickey Woods) star who played in one of the most memorable Super Bowls of the past twenty years.

As a wrestler, I have trained under Les Thatchter and Harley Race. I have been in the ring with Charlie Haas, Nigel McGuinness, "Wildcat" Chris Harris, and Shark Boy just to name a few.

Why do I mention all of this? Do I need to pat myself on the back? No. The reason I mention all of this, I have worked with some high level high athletes and some kids that weren't ready to tie their shoes. It does not matter if the athlete is 5 or 50 - some athletes will make excuses and complain regardless of the challenge before them. These folks inevitably fail.

Other athletes, keep moving forward no matter what. These athletes get frustrated with their performance even when they win. They are always looking to improve. They are always looking to get better. These folks reach heights that others only talk about.

It is 2008. It is a new year. What is your excuse?

INJURY UPDATES
PWInsider.com
ROH Champion Nigel McGuinness will miss tonight's ROH Final Battle in New York City due to the injuries he suffered last night at the PPV taping. McGuinness suffered a concussion, a broken nose and 14 internal and external stitches after smashing fis face into the guard rail. There was some talk of McGuinness, who had just returned from a biceps tear, of taking time off again, but that's not confirmed.

"American Dragon" Bryan Danielson and Rocky Romera also suffered concussions at last night's PPV taping.

The injuries listed above are all too real. I will continue to be on the pro-wrestling sideline as we head into 2008. My knees, back, and shoulder simply are not healthy.
