JUNE 2001
2001.06.29 -
Wow. "The Backstage" in Chilocothe, Ohio is incredible. The doors were scheduled to open at 7:00 pm and belltime was set for 8:00 pm.
Justen Joy and I (collectively known as "The Fraternity") arrived in Chilocothe around 6:15 pm.
There were already no fewer than 50 people in line (in 90 degree weather) waiting outside when we arrived.
The place was jam-packed to the rafters (about 200) and then some.
Former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Tommy Rich was on hand for the event. He is a genuinely nice individual.
I wrestled The Holyman last night. The Holyman is a good all-around wrestler. I have tremendous respect for him and his in-ring ability. That being said, the match last night was disappointing.
Bottomline, the match didn't meet my expectations. So, here it is... The IWA will be in Washington C.H. Saturday July 7th.
No threats... no promises of victory... no long-winded promos... no bull-crap... Holyman, I want to wrestle you in Washington Court House.
Final Note: Fans in West Virginia, if you have a chance to make it out to the Parkersburg, City Park Pavillion on the 4th, you can witness some great NWA action and see heavyweight champion (and former ECW champion), Steve Corino.
