My former tag team partner, Zach Avery, recently lost the
IWA Heavyweight Championship. In most cases the former champion gets a return match. In this case, I do not see that happening.
I spoke with Zach a couple of weeks before he lost the title. Zach sounded like a broken man. He relayed detail after detail about knee, ankle, and shoulder injuries. He didn't sound like a champion sitting on top of the world. Zach sounded defeated. He sounded tired.
Zach is no longer carrying the weight of the promotion. Zach can step away from the ring. He can allow his body to heal. Then, he can evaluate the situation and make a decision.
Another former
IWA wrestler, Jabari was injured during a recent match. Word is, he is recovering and should have no long term damage. That is good to hear.

Last night, I watched a few minutes of WWE Raw. This is the first time I have watched WWE programming in... well, a long time. I saw the Ric Flair match. Ric looks REALLY old. I couldn't enjoy the match. I found myself worrying that Flair was going to have a stroke or heart attack and die in the middle of the ring. It was scary.

One of the cool about pro-wrestling is meeting people. Over the years, I have been contacted by fans all across the United States. Moreover, I have been contacted by folks all over the world.
Several years ago, a very polite wrestling fan from Japan contacted me. He and I exchange emails from time to time. He has mailed me some neat little trinkets from Japan. I have mailed his some of my matches.
Ryosuke stayed awake all night on New Year's Eve to witness the first sun rise of 2007. He was kind enough to take a photo of the first Japanese sun rise of 2007. That is his photo to the right. I am thankful for his kindness. I am amble to catch a small glimpse of his world.

Last night - at 6:00 PM - in the dark - in the rain - in the 40°F weather, Mini-Mattis (age 7) pulled out a target, set up flood lights, marked off 5 and 10 yards, put on a helmet/shoulder pads and started throwing the football. I asked what he was doing. His response? "I am working on my speed, 3-step drop, throwing accuracy, and throwing power."
I said, "ok." and went back in the house.

The Ohio Bobcats got thrashed in the GMAC Bowl last night. The Bobcats could never get it going offensively. Defensively, the Bobcats gave up several big plays. The Bobcats were simply outmatched.
