I took my summer class final. I now have about two weeks of rest until Fall Quarter classes begin. I am only taking one class this fall. The demands of family and football are simply too much.
Football. Wow. Where to start with football. Mini-Omega is doing ok. He has reached the endzone once. In yesterday's game, he was a part of 10 defensive stops.
His football team is falling apart. There is no way to sugarcoat it. I have seen this coming for about 4 years now. I kind of expect that the team will be able to pull it together for a 4-4 season this season. Next season, I fully expect the wheels to completely come off of the bus and the team finish with a losing record. It is simple. The thing about planting seed is... you reap what you sew. Harvest season is still a long ways off but the weeds are mighty thick.
My team is also struggling. We have enough talent to compete. But, there are very few players that are willing to sell-out and give 100% on 100% of the plays. One player failed to attend practice on Friday night because he "needed a day off". He is just one of many with that attitude. I am not reaching them. I feel like I am wasting my time.

I have to discontinue morning workouts for a couple of weeks. I am exhausted. I have been running on empty for a while. I can't tell if I am just tired or if I am getting sick.
I have 45-minute presentation tomorrow. I still have a few things to finish up before then. Overall, I think it will go ok. I have a final on Wednesday. Then, I have about two weeks to relax before Fall Quarter classes begin.
The boy had had a preseason football game yesterday. He did ok. He got a couple of carries at halfback. He scored on an extra point attempt.

Life is hectic. The boy is playing all over the place at his football practice. At the junior high level, we have a scrimmage on Friday. We are in no way prepared. It is going to be an absolute train wreck. I have a 45-minute presentation on Monday and a final on Wednesday.

Our dogs killed a female possum last night. I let the dogs out for a final time before bed and I saw a pile laying in the yard. I moved in closer to inspect the pile. It was a female possum. You might be wondering how I know it was a female possum. That answer is very simple. Today, walking around in the backyard, I discovered several 5" baby possums scattered about. We have dead baby possums scattered all over our backyard. Nice.
Junior high and youth football seasons are officially underway. MO (Mini-Omega) was assigned his jersey last night. He will be wearing #13 this season. I am just oozing with excitement. (note: sarcasm)
MO rode his bike to football conditioning this week. Taking the back roads for safety, it is an eight mile bike ride from our home to the practice field. MO rode to practice, conditioned alongside his teammates for two hours in 90° F weather, then rode his bike 8 miles to get home. He biked 16+ miles and conditioned for 2 hours. I say it all of the time, he amazes me. He inspires me.
I am taking 1 class right now. I am getting used to the volume of reading necessary. I have wrote a five page paper this past week. I have a seven page paper due next week. I am giddy. (note: sarcasm)
My twin daughters turn two years old in the next week. They absolutely amaze me. They are a blessing and I am extremely thankful.
