Tis the holiday season. Take a look inside Faberville as the residents of the goofy pro-wrestling based town celebrate the holidays as only they can.
I had another MRI on my back this week. The result was a little more disturbing than I had anticipated. The report recommendation was to follow-up with a surgeon. I have to do some soul searching. Working out... working out with heavy weight has been a big part of who I am for a long time. That needs to change. My can no longer handle the load.

I was shocked and saddened to read that Steve Bradley has passed away. He was to turn 33 next week. When I first started wrestling with HWA in Cincinnati, they were a WWE developmental territory. At that time, Steve Bradley and Lance Cade were HWA tag team champions. I did not know him well. I did not have many conversations with him. The limited interactions I did have with him, he was a nice, fun-loving, and good guy.

The Wrestler starring Mickey Rourke is getting some good reviews. The trailer looks promising. Most movies about pro-wrestling border on absurd. Very few films take wrestling seriously. This film appears to do a very good job of chronicling the life of an aging pro-wrestler.

I was in Columbus doing some Christmas shopping at Walmart. They have an entire DVD section devoted to Spanish speaking films. Many of the signs in the store are in both English and Spanish. All I can say is... the times are changing. In an effort to appeal to more of the local Spanish community, I will make an effort to include some witty remarks in Spanish...

Mini-Omega and I competed in the Ghosts and Goblins 5k in Dayton. I ran 3.1 miles in a Superman costume while he ran in a Batman suit. The cape does not flow quite as nicely as one would hope. I am just saying...
I accepted the position of high school weight room coordinator. I am very excited. One of my life goals has been to be a high school strength and conditioning coach.
Cyrus Poe, Snake Hoover and I attended a screening of Bruce Campbell's
My Name is Bruce film. It was decent. It was nice to spend some time with the guys. Following the film, we walked across the hall to the trendy little bar and had a few drinks. The stories told are the stuff indy wrestling legends are made of... enough said.
I rented the movies, Semi-Pro and Tropic Thunder. One word... HORRIBLE. Sheesh, who thinks those movies are good? Seriously. Those films were painful.
Schools have certainly changed. MO is doing video projects for grades instead of book reports. I still don't know why he needs to learn to write in cursive. Does anyone write in cursive anymore? Have him take a keyboarding class or something useful.
MO competed in a 5-mile Turky Trot on thanksgiving morning. He didn't push himself too much. He ran 10-minute miles. He finished 3,027 out of 5,533. Had he pushed himself at all, he could have realistically placed around 1,500. I am still very pleased that at 9-years-old, he willing to go run 5-miles in 23° F weather while most kids his age are still in their pajamas eating frosted flakes.
