Would it be newsworthy if I could produce emails from prominent scientists talking about how they are falsifying their data to earn/keep government grants? What if the scientists were falsifying the data about global warming? It sure would be inconvenient if the truth was reported. (
Washington Times,
News Busters,
Herald Sun)
On a separate subject, what if there was video evidence of a congressman hijacking democacracy? Would that matter to anyone? I
dare (yes, I am 12-years-old) you to watch this video and say it is no big deal.
Click here to watch the video. This happened on the House floor. This guy belongs in jail - he committing fraud and falsifying a congressional vote.

Last night,
Stephanie Spielman, wife of former NFL player, Chris Spielman passed away. For the past 11-years, she battled breast cancer. Chris and Stephanie have 4 young cildren. When I heard the news of her death, I cried. I cried when I learned that Jeff Jarrett's wife had passed away after a lengthy battle with breast cancer She was 37 years old. Jeff and Jill have 3 young daughters.
I am married. My wife and I have 3 young children. I cannot imagine the hurt of watching my young and beautiful my wife slowly slip away to something as awful as cancer. I cannot imagine waking up by myself every day with the full weight of caring for our children.

Today, we hosted a 5k. I have never organized a race before. I was nervous. Two weeks ago, my fear was that there would only be 10 people signed up for the race and we would lose money. Over the past week, registration forms have flowed in. Yesterday, my fear turned toward the belief that we did not have enough volunteer support. I woke up this morning at 2 a.m. in a cold sweat.
Long story made short, we had 139 registered participants which is almost three more than the personal goal I had set for this event. God blessed us with amazing weather. It is mid-November and it was sunny and 64° by race time. Everything went really well. The event came off with no major glitches. Everyone seemed to have a good time.
I was completely stunned by the performance turned in by my 10-year-old son. Prior to the race, I simply told him that this was a race in our hometown and he needed to do his best. His best far exceeded my expectations. He finished in 24:09, almost 4-minutes faster than his previous personal best.
Then, he grabbed a cookie, got in the car with friends and headed off to play in his first indoor soccer game. He reportedly played very well on defense.

Cyrus Poe and I made a new cartoon. It was supposed to be a 15-second comic strip cartoon. It ended up going close to 50-seconds. It doesn't have a beginning or closing credit. From a sound point, it sounds like it is missing something. It was supposed to be quick, witty, and funny. I don't think achieved those goals... sigh.
Football is over. This was a growing and learning season for us both as coaches and players. I hope that some of the good things we started will carry over into the off-season.
Fall quarter classes are winding down. A couple of more weeks and then I get a break... maybe.
This is going to sound a bit snobbish... Our 55" big screen TV died. It was about 10-years-old. It lived a good life. We had no choice but to go out and get a new TV. We ended up getting a high definition 50", 1080p, plasma TV. The picture is fantastic. However, I can't help but think, "wow, that looks small". How sad is that? We have 50" tv and I think it looks small. I am a bad person.
