It has been 1 month since my last update.
I wish I could write about my joyous holidays.
I wish I could write about my son's wrestling successes.
I wish I could write about my promotion from offensive line coach to offensive coordinator.
I wish I could write about Faberville getting accepted to a large film festival.
I am writing today because the central Ohio wrestling scene has lost one of its patriarchs. This week, Wimpy Watson passed away. Wimpy will be remembered as the long-standing manager of the Riot Squad. He will be remembered for his flashy clothes and his dirty deeds.
Wimpy was a fun person to be around. Pro wrestling is a sport for young kids. It is a sport for dreamers. Pro wrestling is not for 'old people' or adults. Pro wrestling requires imagination and creativity.
If you enter an indy wrestling locker room; you will quickly notice that most participants range in age from 18 to 25 years old. In a locker room with 20 wrestlers; odds are only 1 person is over the age of 30. Only in 'special attraction' situations do you see someone over the age of 40 in the locker room. Almost never do you see someone over the age of 50 in an indy locker room.
Wimpy was a kid at heart. Wimpy Watson wanted to have fun and entertain crowds. Wimpy Watson lived his dream long after many of his peers had moved on...
