At the ballpark 2004.05.20 Where to begin?
This past week has featured some of the best and t worst moments of recent memory.

Let's get the bad out of the way. A very trying week in my personal life. The issues have been discussed. I am taking a wait and see approach. But, I don't think it will turn out well. Confused? Yeah, I know... only about 5 people on the planet know what is going on. So let's move to the good.

My son and I took in a couple of baseball games. The (Triple A affiliate of the New York Yankees) Columbus Clippers hosted the (Triple A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians) Buffalo Bisons. I am an Indians fan. So, by proxy my son is an Indians fan as well.

We had an excellent time. My son took more than 150 photos on the digital camera. A groundskeeper gave him a ball. He also won a Stadium raffle. His prize was a (hall of fame pitcher) Bob Gibson bobblehead. After the game, he was fortunate enough to meet some of the players. He got his picture taken with Eric Crozier (1B), Brandon Phillips (2B, SS), and Russell Branyan (3B).

On Saturday evening, I wrestled for the IWA. I wrestled Freakboy Malloy. It was our first match either together or as opponents. I remember watching Freakboy in the YWA (youth) classes 3 or 4 years ago.

Freakboy has come along way in that time. He has a lot of drive and determination. He wants to improve. He wants to learn.

The match itself was sound. It was a fairly even contest. But, in the end my experience prevailed.

Motivation is tough to come by right now. Sleep deprivation reigns supreme. Long days and short nights continue to take their toll.

Here is someting only a parent can appreciate. On weekends, my son is out of bed by 6:30 AM ready to attack the day. He makes sure we are awake too. On weekdays, I need him to be dressed and ready to go by 7 AM. Many mornings I end up carrying him, still in pajamas, to the car.

Overall, it was a good weekend. In 72 hours time, we celebrated my wife's birthday and Mother's Day. Cake. presents and yard work. Doh.

I want to laugh. No. I need to laugh.

A couple weeks ago... on a rare quasi "off" night; my father, my son, and I took in a AAA baseball game. Ehhh. It was cold. Darn cold. We made it through about 6 innings and called it a night. My son had a blast. That is what counts.

I met Cyrus Poe for wings and a beer. He called me demeaning names. I called him demeaning names. Good times.

Several months ago, Cyrus loaned me some DVDs. I loaned him some DVDs. He gave me good DVDs. I gave hime crap. After I gave him crap-movies, I told him he could keep them. The bastard gave the movies back! He refused to keep such crappy movies. "Legend of the Chupacabra" makes "Deathrace 2000" look like "Gladiator".

Cyrus also gave me an Ultimate Muscle DVD. Sweet. At some point, I expect my son will let me watch it. My son took the DVD hostage. He watches it on his backseat DVD player EVERY day.
