In wrestling news, Saturday evening I had dinner with Cyrus Poe and Fabulous Frederick. I have not seen Frederick in four or five years. It is amazing how easy it is to reconnect with other wrestlers. It was as if we had not missed a beat. We repeated some of our favorite stories from the road, laughed, drank, and were merry. Sadly, I had to duck out early to get some sleep. Some things never change.
I had a lengthy blog about Sunday's Deer Creek Triathlon written, but I am just not in the mood to post it. I finished my first open water swim sprint triathlon. My 10-year-old son finished his first open water swim sprint triathlon. My wife added another notch to her triathlon belt.
Back to wrestling for a moment... I visited the IWA website. I guess times are a changing. I hardly recognize any of the names on the IWA roster. I know Onyx and Bull Miller. I do not recognize any of the other names. There is the sad reality that everyone moves on eventually. I have been out of the game long enough that a lot of the folks I came up with are no longer a part of the wrestling world.
I am finished with spring quarter classes. This week is my reprieve. On Monday, I start summer quarter.
