My final class of the quarter is this evening at 6:00 pm. I have to turn in my portfolio and take a 20-point quiz. I hope to be finished by 6:30 or 6:45. I will hop in the car, drive 40-minutes and catch the tail end of MO's (Mini-Omega) baseball game.
Last Wednesday evening, MO was supposed to run a 5k. He arrived at the park. He walked past the award table. He saw the plaque for first place in the 10k. That was all it took, MO went back to the registration table and switched to the 10k.
The junior high football summer conditioning program is underway. We will have a small team this year. We will start the year with probably half as many kids as last year. On the plus side, we have a fairly talented group coming in.
This season, I plan to coach the defense. We will be running a 3-5 stack. I was an assistant coach with the high school when we ran this defense a few years ago. I am not coming into this season blind. I have an idea of how the pieces will fit together.
After a week off, we resumed morning workouts on Monday. A new member joins us. He is preparing to start his senior year. He is a solid athlete. He broke one or two school records in track this season. It is great to have him on board. He has a lot of potential. I hope he chooses to take advantage of the gifts God gave him.
My daughters have reached a crossroad. Last week, they discovered how easy it was to climb in and out of their cribs. They refused to stay in their cribs for naps. We dismantled the cribs and set up toddler beds. Now, the girls have no bars to climb. They can hop out of bed whenever they want. This is a tough situation because they still need a mid-day nap, but struggle to calm themselves down enough to actually lie down.
