image What a difference a week makes...

I have avoided the topic for the past couple of weeks. I didn't have a whole lot I could pass along. My knee has been bothering me badly for the past 3 weeks. My knee has been extremely stiff and weak.

This morning I saw a specialist. There is a lot of fluid on my knee. There is also a good deal of grinding in the joint. The doctor took x-rays. The x-rays look okay. The next step, get an MRI on the knee.

God smiled upon me, the MRI center had a cancellation. I was able to get in for an MRI no more than an hour after my doctor appointment. There are two paths from here. The simple path, the doctor drains my knee and gives me a shot of cortisone. The less simple path involves another arthroscopic knee surgery.

I am praying that they chose to drain the knee and shoot me up with some cortisone.

I am reading an excellent book right now - "Win, Losses, and Lessons" by Lou Holtz. Here are a couple of my favorite passages at this point:

In terms of factual information that I learned, about the only thing I remember from my freshman year (at Kent State) was that Ohio and Michigan are the only two states in the USA ever to call out the militias and go to war with each over. The dispute was over possession of Toledo.

History doesn't record who won, but we have to assume Michigan prevailed, since I can't believe we went to war to *keep* Toledo.

AND...

(Romans 5:3) We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."

In other news, MO (Mini-Omega) earned all "A's" on his most recent report card.
