clancy is shellin' So, I lifted weights 5:00 a.m. this morning. One of my lifting buddies; Clancy Hardman couldn't make it this morning because he was too busy shelling corn. What in the blue blazes?

Anyway, I spoke to Dr. Hardman around 8 a.m. this morning. Clancy was very apologetic. He said he was willing to make it up to me. He said he would do whatever is necessary to prove himself worthy of OTC (Omega Training Compound) workouts.

I told him he wouldn't like my answer. He kept pushing saying he could handle the repercussions for his absence. I tried to warn him...

Finally, I relented. I told him there was one way to earn his way back into the OTC...

He has to workout with Mini-Mattis one-time for about 20-minutes. More specifically, he has to race little 8-year-old Mini-Mattis, 20-reps (1 rep per minute) of about 20 yards. The goal is for Clancy to beat Mini-Mattis on all 20-reps.

We run 1 twenty yard sprint per-minute every minute for twenty-minutes. We are talking about a grown man beating an 8-year-old. It sounds simple enough, doesn't it?

Now, let me give you a little background info on Dr. Clancy... Clancy was an all-world running back in high school. Clancy received a college scholarship to play da foozball. Clancy set a few collegiate records as a running back. Upon graduating, Clancy had NFL tryouts.

If ever there were a David and Golliath situation, this is it. Surely, Dr. Hardman is confident that he can beat an 8-year-old in a foot race. Right? (I know you are reading this Hardman!)

As it turns out, Clancy has declined the opportunity to race Mini-Mattis. That's right. Clancy... as a grown man... highly successful collegiate running back... does not believe he can best an 8-year-old in a series of sprints.

For shame. For shame. For shame.

I guess it should be noted that when Mini-Mattis was 7-years-old, he ran a 5K with Dr. Clancy Hardman. I will merely state that Mini-Mattis bested Clancy by more than 17-minutes. In the words of Olympic Gold Medalist, Kurt Angle, "It's True. It's True."

On a different note, I posted some more of the boys' football highlights.

1) The boy gets in a decent stance. He takes on the blocker. He sheds the block and makes the tackle. Yes, he is way to high. We are working on it.

2) He is on offense. His first responsibility is to take the linebacker, then move to the safety. The linebacker engages the right tackle, so the boy moves to the second level to find the safety.

3) The boy rips off a 25 yard run.

Where you at Clancy? Where you at? ...

Peace!
