Mini-Mattis had an excellent game on Saturday. He recorded runs of 14, 17, and 22 yards. His 14-yard run resulted in a touchdown. He made several defenders miss. When defenders finally got a hold of him, he kept his feet moving and plowed ahead for another 6 or 7 yards.

Defensively, Mini-Mattis came down with his first career interception. Last week, he tipped the ball into the air and one of his teammates came down with it. This week, he was able to hang on to it and keep it for himself.

I am very proud of how Mini-Mattis is developing both on and off of the field. He is a good kid who busts his butt.

One of the older Ram teams faced a dominating powerhouse. They were taking it on the chin all day long. The opposing team was much bigger, faster, and stronger. League rules mandate that every player be on the field for at least 5 plays in each half of the game.

In the third quarter, the head coach looked at his pool of running backs and in a take no prisonerŐs way said, "Who wants to run the ball?"

To which the coach was met with a resounding silence.

Late in the game, the coach looked over at little Bobby and said, "We still need to get you 3 plays. Get ready to go in."

To which the kid responded, "Are you kidding me?!? Are you sure I have to go back in?"
