As loyal readers of the website know, I live in the middle of nowhere. I live in the country. I live in rural America. When I look out my front window, I see cornfields. The downside to living in the country is that it takes 20-minutes to get to the grocery store. The upside? Cool (or bizarre) stories that no one else can tell. This is one of those stories.
Last night, on her way home from work, my wife was sitting at a red light. There aren't many stoplights in this area. As she is sitting at the light, she glances to her left. She sees something that she has never seen before. The light turns green. Her car should be moving - but it wasn't. She turned on her hazard lights, placed the car in park, and got out.
She spotted a pig walking on the shoulder of the road and she was determined to save it. The piglet spotted her and took off in the opposite direction. My wife was in hot pursuit. She chased the little fella on to a 4-lane highway dodging semi trucks and minivans. She finally caught the little guy. She carried him back to her car, placed him on her lap, and headed for home.
Last night, some friends came over to take the pig. They will take care of him. They will feed him and look after his needs... until he weighs about 230 pounds. Then... his prospects don't look so good.
On the wrestling front, I have to say the past two weeks of
TNA iMPACT have been awesome. Last week, the interaction between Kurt Angle and Jeremy Borash was outstanding.
 |
| Samoa Joe had better sign a new TNA contract soon. |
Angle (in his underwear laying in a tanning bed): "Did you look at my package?"
Borash: "What? No, I didn't look at your..."
Angle: "You were looking at my package."
Borash: "I wasn't looking at your package."
Angle: "Don't look at my package."
The Kurt Angle tanning bed saga with Dr. Kevin Nash was funny. Nash sitting in his underwear listening to Angle was gold.
Christian Cage has added a 'Cage Security' security posse because he is in an unsafe work environment. Cage referred to Tomko's IWGP Tag Team Championship as a toy belt. AJ Styles and Robert Roode are fighting to for Christian's approval.
Team 3D and the Steiner Brothers cut a fantastic promo. It is safe to say, Team 3D is hated and the fans will support the Steiner Brothers. I need to go back and watch the segment again to see how many times Scott Steiner called Brother Ray 'fat'. Brother Ray's exclamation of "Stop calling me fat!" was great.
I have never cared about Dustin Rhodes/Golddust. Last night, Dustin Rhodes cut an extremely passionate promo. Good stuff.
As for the matches, Shelley/Sabin vs. LAX was fantastic. I wish they had 10 or 15-minutes instead of 5-minutes. There were so many creative, fast-paced, cohesive spots in that match. The TNA tag division is ridiculously deep with talent.
I really like seeing Robert Roode getting the opportunity to get in the ring with a big name like Sting. The old school Robert Roode persona is fantastic. I hope they continue to push him. The Sting vs. Robert Roode match was typical TV format. I would love to see those two square off at Hard Justice.
The main event with AJ and Abyss was 'ok'. It was obviously going to end up in a total cluster. With the way Abyss was manhandled, it looks like we are going to see Judas Messiah soon.
On August 12, the
TNA Hard Justice PPV is set to be headlined by Samoa Joe (X-Division, Tag Team Champions) facing Kurt Angle (World Heavyweight Champion, IWGP Champion) with all of the belts on the line. Will this finally be the time that Samoa Joe wins the world title?
