I have wrestled 5 times in the past 5 weeks. It has been mostly fun. But, it is time for wrestling to wind down. Over the next few weeks, my priorities will have to change. As pro-wrestling winds down, football is gearing up. Next week, I am coaching at a youth camp. The following week, I will be coaching four nights per week.
Sounds REAL exciting doesn't it? Anyway...
On Saturday night, the
Black and Blue Crew was in action in Cincinnati Ohio. We wrestled on the
New Era Wrestling card. Cyrus and Tommy were in tag team action against (Aaron Williams and Dave Nevada) Satisfaction Guaranteed. The
BBC's dominance was tested by the fast paced duo. However, in the end, the technical savvy of the
BBC shone through.
I wrestled in the semi-main event against 1/2 of the
new era tag team champions, Dewey Brown. I will give Dewey credit. Dewey can take a beating. I pounded - pounded - and pounded on him... and he kept coming back for more. What Dewey lacks in size he makes up for in heart. However, Dewey eventually succumbed to my superior technical ability... and brute force.
My wife is pregnant with twins. She is going to pop soon. I am pretty sure her 'nesting' instinct is kicking in. She is cleaning and preparing the girls room today. Hopefully, I can wrestle one or two more times before the twins arrive.
Mini-Mattis is midway through Xenia football camp. Next week, he attends a Rams football camp. The following week, regular football practices start. His summer vacation is as good as over. Last night, they played two-hand touch. Mini-Mattis looked good running the ball. He made a couple of good moves before slipping and falling on his butt.

Wide receiver Chris Henry, drafted in 2005, has been arrested four times in the past year. Middle linebacker Odell Thurman, also an '05 draftee, was suspended for four games last week because of violations of the substance abuse policy. Their third-round choice this year, defensive end Frostee Rucker, was charged last month with two counts of spousal battery and vandalism. Fifth-round choice A.J. Nicholson, who had a history of off-field problems at Florida State, was charged last month with burglarizing the apartment of a former teammate.
On Thursday, the Bengals used next year's third-round choice on linebacker Ahmad Brooks, who had three reported marijuana incidents and other problems at Virginia. Though considered a first-round talent, Brooks was available because Virginia kicked him off the team.
Sport stars have been able to get away with murder... in some cases literally. Pro teams have been happy sign wifebeaters and drug addicts in the name of winning. However, in recent years, teams like Patriots have won with blue collar high character athletes. This has caused a shift in many franchises. Many teams are now steering clear of the highly talented lowly moraled athletes.
Conclusion? Character matters.
That is all... for now.
