Do you remember the scene at the end of Braveheart when William Wallace speaks his final word? "Freedom!"

I feel as though a 1,000 weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I feel a sense of nervous excitement. I am nervous because I cannot believe it is real. The season is over! I am free of committments!

I enjoy coaching. I had a great time working with the team. I do not want it to sound as though it were an entirely miserable experience. I am appreciative of the opportunity presented to me. It is an experience I am glad to have under my belt.

The NWFA is a league of have and have-nots. Here is an example of the lack of league parity - of the 17 scheduled this past weekend, there were 5 forfeits. Five of the seventeen games were forfeited. That is nearly 1/3rd of the games.

Of the 12 games that were actually played, 9 of them resulted in shutouts. We are not talking about 7-0 shutouts. We are talking about 56-0 scores. 3/4ths of the games were shutouts.

There were only 3 games where BOTH teams scored. Those were not necessarily good or close games either. The Sizzle managed to score once. We got beat 54-7. Not exactly a fun night for the home team.

Of the 17 scheduled games, only 1 was decided by fewer than 21 points. There was only 1 close game. The league needs to address this issue.

Anyway...

The IWA will hold another wrestling card in Chillicothe, Ohio on July 7th. Scheduled to appear are Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and Road Warrior Animal. I *may* attend this event. I was a big fan of both Animal and Valentine growing up. It would be great to see a couple of old school legends.
