Craptacular Weekend!

2005.05.16
There is no other way to say it... it was a Craptacular weekend. Saturday morning around 11 we hopped on the team bus and headed to Pittsburgh. The game started at 7 PM with nice cool weather. Pittsburgh jumped out to a quick 21-0 lead and never really looked back. We managed to close the gap to 42-22 heading into halftime. We had chances in the 2nd half. We simply could not convert. We had 5 shots inside the 5-yard line and came away with no points. The final score was 56-22.

In the 4th quarter, the rain started to come down. It rained HARD. This was not a light shower. This was the Heaven's unleashing aquatic fury. We were soaked from head to toe. Two layers of shirts, jeans, undies, socks, shoes were all TOTALLY soaked. Keep in mind, it is May. This was not warm summer rain. It was 50 degrees outside and I sincerely doubt the rain was that warm.

I had a pair of shorts, sweatshirt, socks and shoes in my bag. It never occurred to me that my undies would be soaked through. Yeah... I could 1) go commando 2) wear soaked undies all the way home 3) wear a dry pair of women's panties. Contrary to popular belief, I did not wear the women's panties. I chose option #2. I wore soaking wet undies all the way home.

We stopped for dinner around 11 PM. The post-game dinner took forever. The bar & grill could not get food out fast enough. It was 1:30 AM when everyone finally received food and we got back on the bus. I did secure 2 seats on the bus. I managed to get a few hours of sleep.

The bus dropped us off at shortly after 6 AM. We climbed into bed around 6:30 AM. I slept until about 9 AM. At the point, I got up - brewed some coffee and started to breakdown the previous night's game film.

star wars Most of Sunday was spent on stuff like: mowing the yard, doing laundry, grocery shopping, etc. Sound fun? Believe me... it is a "thrilling" life.

There is something exciting to look forward too... Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith opens in theaters on Thursday. Mini-Omega and I are going to try to see the movie Thursday afternoon. I am really hoping this film can live up to the hype.

Episode I: The Phantom Menace was painfully bad. I cannot sit through that film. I have skip 3/4ths of the movie to avoid falling asleep.

Episode II: Attack of the Clones was much better than Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Yet, Episode II: Attack of the Clones is till nowhere nearly as good as Episode IV: A New Hope or Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.

The Cartoon Network Clone Wars (vol. 1 & 2) series was better than episode 1. I would rank those cartoons higher than Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. But, I digress.

I grew up watching Star Wars. I still remember seeing the original Star Wars at the drive-in. I was instantly hooked. My son has seen all of the movies. Now, he too is hooked.

Hopefully, my craptacular weekend does not spill over and turn into a craptacular week. I am hoping George Lucas got this one right.
