Time for the weekend report!

I spent most of Saturday in my detached garage converting it into a gym. We have been working on this project since we first moved back in March. I wish I could say the project was nearing completion. Sadly, it is not. We still have a long way to go. I hope it is finished before winter.

Sunday was Father's Day. I had a fun day despite the turmoil. Saturday was spent working on the garage. So, Sunday we wanted to do something fun for our son. We decided to spend Father's Day at Kings Island in Cincinnati. My wife and son wanted to treat me to a nice breakfast. Unfortunately, everyone else had the same idea. All of the restaurants were crowded. So, we plowed forward. We ended up at McDonald's for breakfast. Oh well. From breakfast we headed to Kings Island.

By the way, I despise amusement parks. I can't stand waiting in line for 30-minutes or an hour to ride something that lasts 3-minutes. That is a waste of time.

Anyway, we get to Kings Island. My son rides various rides. He is having a good time. That is all that matters to me. My son is enjoying his day at the park. Then, without warning the heavens unleashed on us. It started pouring down rain. We were soaked. We ran for the car. A KI-staffer jokingly yelled out, "Happy Father's Day!" as we jogged out the gate toward the parking lot. We did a little shopping (still dripping wet) before heading home to take a nap. Wohoo!

Seriously though, my son had fun. We were all together as family. That is all I can ask for in life.
