2003.05.06

I tried to watch RAW last night. I made it through almost 1 hour of the program. I read a full recap at 1wrestling. I will keep this brief. I do not want to be accused of being a "negative nancy".

1. The dueling GM angle
- Austin has already kicked Bischoff's butt
- We have already seen dueling owners (Vince & Ric)
- What is the PAYOFF? Austin keeps Eric from doing evil? That's compelling! *not*

2. Goldberg
- In his WWE debut, he (cleanly) pinned one of the top guys, The Rock.
- Goldberg destroyed 3 guys at once - Rico, Jamal, Rosie.
- Goldberg vs. Christian in a steel cage? Let's see a show of hands... who thinks Christian has a chance of winning this match? ... looking ... looking ... that is what I thought. No one on earth is dumb enough to believe Christian has a chance. That's compelling! *not*

3. IC title
+ This is actually a good idea. I am sure they will screw it up.
+ Who will win the IC title battle royal. This is intriguing.

4. Tag Team titles
- Could this division be more lame?
- Pick any 2 guys, throw them out there against the champions. That's compelling! *not*
- 3 Minute Warning has 0 credability.
- La Resistance will get a solid 2 month push before they are buried.
- The Dudley Boyz were old news a year ago.
- I miss REAL tag teams like: The Hart Foundation, The British Bulldogs, The Rock N Roll Express, The Midnight Express, The Road Warriors, The Killer Bees, The Rockers, The Steiner Brothers, etc. - Today's (RAW brand) tag teams FLAT OUT SUCK.

5. Nash vs. Jericho
- Why not save a match like this for PPV?
- Nash is scheduled in the main event (title match) against HHH at the next PPV.
- Jericho doesn't have any semblance of a story right now.
- Who will win the Nash vs. Jericho match next week? Hmm. Let me think.
- Does ANYONE believe Jericho will beat Nash next week? Minus HHH interference? Didn't think so. That's compelling! *not*

6. HHH vs. Nash
- Is Nash even remotely over?
- Is Nash vs. HHH going to be worse than HHH vs. Steiner?
- Does HHH have to beat Nash clean so he will look strong against Goldberg?
- Or will HHH lose to Nash to avoid facing Goldberg?
The suspence is killing me! *not*

Avoid WWE.
Find a quality indy in your area.
HWA in Cincy.
ROH in Philly.
NWA TNA on PPV.

BTW, Am I only one bothered by the WWE website placing an AD for Zelda (a kids video game) next to an AD for Trojan condoms?
