WWE / New DVD

2002.08.21 I had a fun albiet painful weekend. On Saturday evening HWA set up shop on home plate at the New York Yankees triple A affiliate, the Columbus Clippers. More than a thousand fans stayed after the baseball game to watch the wrestling matches.

WWE was gracious enough as to supply a few wrestlers for the event. Straight from WWE; Funaki; Farooq, Albert, and John Cena. The crowd ate it up. The wrestlers could do no wrong.

It was a pleasure to be on hand for the event. All of the WWE wrestlers were very nice. Simply put, it was a great event.

Sunday was not as enjoyable. Sunday is an in-ring training day. I was sleep deprived going into practice. After practice, I felt like I got hit by a car. I wanted to crawl into a little ball and sleep / rest for 20 straight hours. That didn't happen.

Greatest movie ever

On Friday evening I purchased a new DVD. I finally broke down and bought one of my all time favorite movies. I know most people would pick an all time favorite movie that is deep and full of substance. I, on the other hand chose the funniest movies I have ever seen.

As many of my anti-fans like to point out, I was a college cheerleader. Every summer we dealt with 3-a-day practices out in the hot August sun. After a almost 2 weeks of 3 practices per day we would head off to cheerleading camp. Cheerleading camp sucks big time because you are on the go from 6 AM until 11 PM every day. Anyway, after 2 weeks of strenous practice we were given a break. We were doing so well that 1 practice was cancelled. As a group we decided to go see a movie.

We were all exhausted and sleep deprived. Sitting down in a dark air conditioned movie theater was total and complete heaven. We were all 'slap-happy'. Beacuse it was early afternoon, we were the only people in the the theater. We were loud, obnoxious and nearly in tears (from laughter) through out the entire movie. It was a great bonding experience. It was a wonderful moment.

So, what was the movie? What movie do I consider to an all-time classic?

BaseKETball starring the creators of South Park - Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Bob Costas and Al Michaels did a fantastic job as the play-by-play guys for the National Baseketball League. Every aspect of this movie was hilarious.

So there. The secret is out.
