Family time is at a minimum. I continue to push forward striving to accomplish my goals in the wrestling business. I am facing several long days and short nights.
I would like to do some house cleaning. There are a few items that should be cleared up.
1. I attended the FIW event last Friday night in Columbus, Ohio. It was a pretty solid event. The event ran a little long for my 3 year-old son. We had to duck out shortly after intermission.
2. I spoke to former FIW Champion David Starr. For what it is worth, I do not dislike him. I hold zero contempt for him. There has been much speculation that I "hate" him. I wish David nothing but the best. David Starr is a good guy. I know certain people read this site that know him. Please let him know I hope things are going well for him.
3. I would like to thank Drew Hanson for the kind words he posted on his site about me a couple of days ago. It was and is appreciated.
4. The event I was scheduled to work this weekend has been cancelled. I am actually somewhat relieved. I have been spending a ton of time on the road and at the gym this week. I am running on empty. I have not had the energy to play with my 3-year-old son. Last night, it was 9:30 p.m. before I finished eating and cleaning up from dinner. My son walked over and very politely asked, "Daddy can we play one game and then I will go to bed, ok?" I almost wanted to cry. I was so physically exhausted I could barely keep my eyes open. But, there was no way on earth I was going to say, "no" to his request.
Tomorrow will be a family day. Tomorrow morning, my wife will run a 5k while my son and I will walk together at the "Race for the Cure" breast cancer fundraising event. My son and I will head to the gym so I can work out. If all goes as planned, we as a family will go see Star Wars II tomorrow afternoon.
Next week will be even busier than this week. Next week there is a big payday. Next week will conclude with an outstanding reward. Next week, we fly out to Washington D.C. to spend the week with friends.
It will be a much-needed break from both in-ring training and weight lifting. Although, in reality I am sure I will work out at least a couple of times while we are there.
Summer is rapidly approaching. If I stay the course... If I can unlearn some of my bad habits... If I can improve my wind... If I can improve my timing...
A lot of people talk about heart and determination. A lot of people talk about making it in business, life, whatever. A lot of people talk a good game.
The bottom line... Actions speak louder than words. If you don't work to improve yourself in some way every day, you will never fulfill your dreams.
