The U.S. Title and Circleville

2002.04.29
This past weekend, the IWA returned to Coshocton, Ohio. The first time the IWA stopped in Coshocton, I wrestled Al B. Damm for the United States Championship. In the end truth, honor, and fair play would prevail and I was crowned the new champion.

As the champion, I have chosen to exercise a few of my rights. Being the champ is a privilege. It is something that should not be taken lightly. None of the previous champions truly honored the title. Previous champions failed to add much integrity or stature to the title. I will change history.

In accordance with the IWA rulebook, page 12 paragraph 3:
"The International Wrestling Alliance (IWA) United States Championship is to be defended on no fewer than 1 occasion every 30 days. No more than 30 days shall pass between defenses of the championship..."

What it really boils down to is that the title must be defended like 12 times per year. The IWA Spin Machine can schedule me to face pretty much whomever they want. However, it is within my rights as champion to designate the match to be "non-title".

Furthermore, it is not uncommon for a wrestler to challenge another wrestler to a match. The IWA Spin Machine, as general rule, allows these challenge matches to take place. So, with that in mind, I have informed the Spin Machine that I plan to lay out a challenge this weekend in Circleville Ohio. They have granted me the opportunity to choose my opponent.

I decided to comb the IWA roster searching for the perfect opponent. I must find an opponent who measures up to my standards. I must find someone who shares similar values. My opponent must believe in truth, honor, and fair play. My opponent must be in superior physical condition and possess a strong work ethic. This person must be a gifted athlete. This person has to be a legitimate threat to my reign as the IWA United States Champion.

The match this weekend in Circleville Ohio will different. All of my matches are special events. My match this weekend in Circleville will be EXTRA special. This weekend, for the very first time, I will defend the IWA United States Championship. The title WILL be on the line.

Who will be lucky enough to get the shot? Who deserves enough to receive a shot at the title?

Could it be Rok Wyler? He is a powerhouse. He has plenty of experience.

Could it be the good Dr. E-Dogg? He is physically fit. He has a lot of potential.

What about Brad Shultz? He has whined and complained about wanting a shot at the title. He is a former champion.

While we at it, what about Bull Miller? He is a 3 time former heavyweight champion. He is the only person on the roster that can claim that distinction.

Of course, there is always Al B. Damm. He and I have wrestled on numerous occasions. He is very talented. Does he deserve a rematch for the title?

Honestly, I do not know whom I am going to choose. The roster is full of quality athletes. I will weigh the possibilities over the next several days.

Fans, if you are in the area... If you live in driving distance of Circleville Ohio... I strongly suggest you get your tickets now. The last time the IWA was in Circleville - the event was SOLD OUT. They had to turn people away at the door.
