I wrestled Friday evening in the village of Beaver. The show started around 7 p.m. as darkness began to set in. The powerful PCW lights did a wonderful job illuminating the ring. Around 8 p.m. it started to drizzle. It continued to drizzle. At 8:15 p.m. the decision was made to skip intermission and do one final bout. As a result, the main event of the show ended up being me vs. Al B. Damm vs. Dale Johnson vs. Heatwave in a four-way elimination match. The match went fairly well. In the end, I triumphed over all competitors and have thusly become the number one contender for the PCW U.S. Championship. As it stands now, I will face Flash (PCW U.S. Champ) in Jackson, Ohio November 3rd, 2001.
Saturday afternoon I participated in the IWA / Red Cross benefit show at Hooter's in Columbus, Ohio. The Fraternity (Zach Avery and I) ended up facing The Poe Boys and Repeat Offenders in a three way tag match to become the number one contenders for the IWA Tag Team titles. Despite the 50-degree temperature and gusting winds, it was a lot of fun. This was the very first time my 2 and a half-year-old son (Collin) attended a show. His only response, "Why is daddy in his underwear?"
I think Vandal will still be feeling the effects of the wedgie months from now. While I was crippling Vandal with "wedgie-power", The Poe Boys double-teamed Zach and claimed victory. (Insert "boo" sounds here)
Last but not least, I have to give a special shout-out to one of the original members of the 'yardbird posse' for his attendance at the show this weekend. It is always a blast to have him around.
